‘Shaon-Shila’: ‘Compensation claim’ of Rs 3 crore from Grameenphone

Barrister Hamidul Mizbah, a lawyer for the Supreme Court, sent the notice on behalf of the family members, including the late author’s wife Meher Afroz Shaon. Lawyer Hamidul Mizbah confirmed the notice.

The notice was sent to Meher Afroz Shaon, wife of late Humayun Ahmed, daughter Nova Ahmed, Sheela Ahmed, Bipasha Ahmed, son Nuhash Humayun and brother Zafar Iqbal.
Their lawyer said, “Today, on Tuesday, July 26, I sent a notice to Grameenphone by registered mail. Earlier, I also e-mailed last Sunday night. ‘

The notice asked Grameenphone to remove the four promotional videos in violation of the copyright law within three days.
At the same time, it has been directed to pay compensation of Tk 3 crore 15 lakh 96 thousand to the family members of Humayun Ahmed within 15 days for violating the intellectual property law.
